A Good Friend Lost

So sweet and so kind,
would never hurt a fly.
She will never be back,
no matter how hard we try.
When the news broke out,
we all wanted to cry.

Caught in a mess,
a path out she could not find.
Through the troubles she had,
leaving everything behind.
If I could do one thing,
I would press rewind.

Her booming personality I will never forget,
but now she is gone it's a burnt out ember.
I answered the phone and heard the news,
that moment I will forever remember,
as well as listening to her accent,
that first day in September.

Even though she is now gone,
in my mind she will always stay.
Things have changed and we really miss you,
just know that you are on our minds every single day.
Last but not least you will never be forgotten,
cant wait to see you once I pass away,
to meet you upon Heaven's stairway.

  1. I've been reading about Phoebe's death.
Its so horrible and tragic, but most of all senseless.
What an inteligent, talented young lady she was. She was a gentle soul, that is so very plain to see. I never knew her and will never have the chance. What and who she would have become once she was grown is something none of us will ever know. But the potential in her was endless. That makes her death and the cause of her death even more tragic. She was beautiful inside and out.
To bad there was people who couldn't stand her beauty and potential. She was everything they wasn't but wanted to be. Being cruel immature and jealous. They did the only thing a truly immature, selfish, cruel person could or would do. They bullied and attacked her without mercy and relentlessly.

Now she along with all her potential, beauty and gentleness is gone.

The really pathetic part is, her tormentors are stil here. They still have a tomorrow. But what good are they? They are whats wrong with society today and they'll be whats wrong with society tomorrow. What good can people who bully, harrass, taunt to take their own life, until that person does possibly be? Ever? Not even a shred of remorse after they've caused her death. Instead they celebrate and leave rude comments on her FB page? These beings aren't fit to be called human. But yet they have a tomorrow.
Do they really think they can torment a person until they take their own lives and there not be a price to pay? Retribution?

Where is solace in this? Perhaps, a little is found in knowing Karma never forgets. She always gives back to all, what ever they have given out to others. Maybe also in knowing that whatever you do in life. You always get back 4 times worse than what you dealt it out. No matter who you are or where you go. Nothing or no one can stop it. Prestige nor money or anything else can stop it. Karma's address book is always up to date.

Maybe the public doesn't know these bullies names..... YET.

But Karma does as well as others in the town they live. The stigma that they have caused by their actions will never leave them. After school is over and done. Who is going to want to hire someone, that has bullied another person to death? And then gloated? That would not be a good business move. Employees have to be able to get along with their co-workers. A person's reputation does indeed preceed them.
Like I said even if they move. KARMA HAS A SELF UPDATING ADDRESS BOOK.

Such a beautiful girl with so much in her future. Robbed of it by these shallow, self centered, cruel creatures. Who obiviously never had the capabilities of ever being or accomplishing anything in their lives. Because they can't see beyond their own selves. The most they are or were ever going to be is/was in High School. Obviously, they aren't much in HS either. Bullies and accomplices to a murder. They should and hopefully will be charged as such and found guilty.

As for the teachers and admin. There needs to be some retribuiton there too. Charges, loss of jobs......

I was reading Phoebe's blogs and followed a link from her page to yours.

Your poem was beautiful and heartfelt. Its never easy to lose someone you love. Especially, at such a young age.

I like so many others in the Nation/ World is outraged over her death and the reasons for it.
Phoebe will live on, perhaps not in body. But she's touched many people's lives. Things must change, so this never happens again.

  2. I signed up just to respond to you. Such beautiful, powerful words. I am very sorry for the loss of your friend. Along with the previous poster, I came across your blog through a link from Pheobe's blog. Keep her in your heart forever. Don't hold on to the hurt, instead take the love for her you had and put it back into the world. It's the only way to create the change our world needs. Be strong, be well.
